Now that the holiday shopping season has begun in earnest, don’t you wonder how the Zune is performing? I sure do. One way to figure this out is by looking at the Amazon.com bestseller’s list for MP3 players as pointed out by Gizmodo.

Now if you were to just look at the overall Amazon list for MP3 players, then the Zune’s performance isn’t all that great. In fact, you won’t find the Zune until the 18th place on that list. Poor performance eh?

But let’s wait a second folks. If you focus the bestseller’s list to only the hard drive based players out there on Amazon, you’ll notice the Zune does a much more respectable 5th place - behind three variants of the Apple iPod and the Creative Zen Vision:M product. That’s not too bad don’t you think?

For me - the mere fact that the Zune is even on the list is a good sign right now. It tells me people are at least considering the Zune. That’s a step folks.
