Microsoft is ratcheting up Zune marketing this summer by putting on live Hip Hop shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. The shows are being called “Live at the BBQ” and will feature names such as Common, Mos Def, E-40, Clipse, UGK, and others. The company has yet to specify the  dates, venues, and actual performing artists but we should be hearing this soon.

So how do you get yourself in these shows? According to MP3.com, invitations will be sent to fans from Zune and hip-hop communities. You’ll also find additional information about the “Live at the BBQ” concerts on the Zune.net website as the concert dates approach.

“‘Live at the BBQ’ is helping to bring hip-hop back to a golden age where records were produced and iconic artists rose directly out of their local communities,” UGK’s Bun B said in a statement. “It’s a chance to put singles, ring tones, and industry hype aside and just get a bunch of our friends together for some great music and BBQ–let’s eat.”
