GameStop has announced that it will stop selling the Microsoft Zune media player citing “it just did not have the appeal we had anticipated.” According to a report at The Street.com, the decision was made about a month ago. The Zune will be sold online at GameStop.com until the entire inventory is cleared out. What did Microsoft have to say about this decision? Adam Sohn, director of marketing for the Zune had this to say: “We have a set of great partnerships that give Zune a strong presence at retail including Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, and others”. That’s definitely true so let’s hope this isn’t the beginning of a trend (which is highly doubtful).
