zune 80 originals

Are you still looking for a Zune 80? How about getting yourself a Zune 80 Original instead? Yup - the Zune Originals website is finally listing the Zune 80 as an option to customize. As mentioned earlier, you can do one of three things:

  • Add text to the back of your Zune player
  • Add a combination of art and text
  • Add a custom background image from an artist

Best part of it all? The customizations are entirely free of charge. Zune Originals states that the Zune 80 will ship 5 to 7 business days from the time of order. You can also customize Zune 4 and Zune 8 flash based players.

The second generation Zunes are NEARLY here as we’ve now reached November 13th, 2007 here in the continental U.S. Unfortunately the new software update as well as the new Zune Marketplace is not yet available. If you go to Zune.net right now, you’ll see the following splash screen.

zune not avail

Microsoft is undoubtedly transitioning and preparing the site for the new Zune launch. Stay tuned - I’ll check on the site through the night to see when the new software and marketplace will be available. I’ll be getting the 80GB Zune tomorrow morning but I probably won’t have a review of the unit until much later in the week. In the meantime, I’ll also try and cover the software update to the Zune during the day.

So we wait….
