That's an interesting question actually. I haven't heard of people trying to connect the Zune to an ad-hoc network. One idea possibly would be to carry a portable wireless router but that would be one extra piece of equipment to carry (plus you'd need to plug that router in somewhere too). Heck - if you're willing to go that far, you might as well carry that USB cable around I suppose. Do let me know if you figure this out.

I really wasn't sure if this would count as a hardware or software thing. I'm trying to figure out a way to make my Zune connect to my laptop wherever I go regardless of wireless network availability. I can make my laptop broadcast an ad-hoc network, but unfortunately the Zune can't connect to it. Has anyone with some extra networking experience managed to figure this out yet? I'm thinking maybe I can broadcast a wireless signal similar to what a router would put out and tricking it to connect through that signal. Anyone know of any programs that broadcast such a signal? If I manage to figure it out I'll post a message here.

I'm curious - what cases are all of you using for your Microsoft Zune? I've been toying with a number of cases but at the end of the day, I end up using the original bag that came with my first generation Zune (which is a bit too large for the second gen. Zune but still good work with)

One of my favorite local bands here in LA is the Ken Oak Band. You can check out some of their tracks on their website here:
http://www.kenoakband.com/

I first ran into the group while they were playing at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Ken's got a nice smooth voice and the tracks are just sweet! Check them out!
